Just came back from Simon's graduation and it's one special event that you don't see in Malaysia.
For once, you welcome the sunshine and it's actually OK to stand under the sun without being hot, sweaty & moody! I'm not a uni graduate but I've attended my cousin's graduation back in hometown and I tell you.... it's not exactly a pleasant feeling of standing under the hot sun and have sweaty armpit wetting your nice dress or shirt (it's not a pleasant sight or smell too! Ewww...!!) Ok, enough of disgusting stuff, let's get back to beautiful things i want to talk about.
Durham is about 3-4 hours drive away from Southport and all along the way, the scenery is just awesome. Cows & sheep are everywhere and they look cute too... :D The farmhouses are very cool looking... *No photos here as I fall asleep half way... tired ok?! :p
Durham... what can i say... It's a historical site with many many old buildings. If you want to know more about the history, go Google it. ;p
After visiting the university and staying in the hostel, I personally think that Malaysia's Uni has a lot of catching up to do. Forget about comparing how big the uni compound is or how canggih the libary is. Let's start with the basic one: The accomodation. Malaysia weather, it's hot & humid & to make it worst, they actually put 4 person in 1 room with only a small tiny fan!! It's a torture ok! Here, they really emphasis on comfort & privacy. They only put 2 students in one room and there's plenty of space to move about. The place is clean & so far didn't hear them complain of lack of water to shower!
Yeah, from outside, our uni looks good with all the canggih technology but the hostel is just terrible. I feel sad that my sister has to stay in such shabby hostel!
Oh well, what to do...they always looks good on the outside but the inside is just horrible...Hopefully, they will slowly change for the better... hopefully...
Alright, I shall shower you all with some pictures now... enjoy! :)
This the hostel that we stayed in.. cool right?
